March 13, 2020
As the coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to escalate, we want to assure you that the health and safety of our young athletes is the No. 1 priority for Steel Sports and all of our programming at Baseball Heaven. Based on recommendations by the CDC, we recently implemented proactive measures to do our part in containing the spread of COVID-19:
As our leadership continues to closely monitor state and local advisories along with recommendations from the CDC, we will keep you continuously updated on how this will affect the events and programming at Baseball Heaven. We are prepared to modify, postpone or even cancel programming to ensure that we are upholding our commitment to health and safety, while supporting the “Kids First” approach that is vital to our mission.
With this in mind, we have decided to suspend all Team Steel activities till April 1, 2020. This includes practices, games, lessons and all team gatherings for baseball and softball either on-site or off-site. The Steel Indoor Academy and Baseball Heaven facility will be closed to the public during this period of time. We will re-evaluate the situation and communicate future plans no later than March 31, 2020. Additional communication will be sent regarding alternative education and training plans for all players. We are committed to our goal of developing our players as athletes and people through the Steel Sports Coaching System.
This is a very fluid situation and we recognize that the dynamics could change quickly. Thank you for your patience, and we will continue to provide updates as new decisions are made. All updates will be posted to: https://steelsports.com/covid-19/.
